I began my recruitment career with STR in October 2010 as a Trainee Maritime Recruitment Consultant. I started in the commercial shipping market, later moving into marine insurance and legal.
I received my first promotion to Senior Consultant in January 2012, at about the same time that the Navis Consulting brand was established. I then became Section Manager for Commercial and Seagoing in July of the following year.
On achieving my targets, I was further promoted to Associate Director in 2015 and then Operations Director in 2017.
I’ve loved being part of Navis for the last 13 years; to see how it’s developed and changed, and how we’ve diversified, grown and established our identity. I feel I’ve been very lucky to be a part of it and to work with some really great people over the years that I’ve learned a lot from.
Since taking over as Operations Director, I’ve enjoyed being able to put my own stamp on it. We’re a brilliant team with a lovely culture who have a great time, and our results support that.
I have a great relationship with the STR Group Board, having worked closely with each of them at one time or another. I’ve always received great support and advice, even out of hours. Our Board Leadership Mentor is also fantastic – highly knowledgeable and experienced.
In addition, I’m part of a brilliant peer group of Operations Directors, who share knowledge, best practice, challenges and solutions. I genuinely feel very lucky to be part of the STR Group family.
