Following an extensive search, the STR Group moved into new, larger premises in Troy, near Detroit, in February of this year. Established by two of our UK employees who relocated to the US, they successfully managed the transition and quickly embedded the STR/Talos Automation culture into their operations.
Not long after that, we were pleased to announce an exciting addition to the team. Danielle Hartman officially joined Talos Automation, part of the STR Group, as the very first US citizen hired to our new US office!
Now she’s had time to settle in, we thought we’d catch up with Danielle and find out a little bit more about her…
Meet Danielle
Welcome to the team Danielle! Whereabouts in the US are you from?
I was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, which is located just outside of Detroit in Michigan on Lake St Clair.
Tell us what you did before working at Talos/STR?
Prior to working at Talos Automation, I worked as an Engineering Recruiter for another STEM talent consultancy. I’m now a Recruitment Resourcer, with a focus on sourcing and onboarding engineering candidates, as well as building and developing relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
What drew you to Talos/STR and how have you settled in?
I wanted to broaden my skillset in recruiting by working with an international company that would enable me to expand my knowledge of new markets and territories and grow in my career.
I have settled into Talos very well! Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming. I am very excited to travel to the UK in June for the STR Group’s annual summer party! I’ll be able to experience working out of the UK Head Office and meet all of my colleagues face-to-face.
What do you like about working in the staffing industry?
I have a passion for helping others. As a recruiter, I get to assist companies in finding talented new employees while also helping candidates transition into new careers. I find that to be very rewarding.
Anything else we should know?
I enjoy traveling a lot. Travel exposes us to different cultures and traditions and allows us to embrace and celebrate both our similarities and differences. I also enjoy anything that is sports related. One of my favorite hobbies is playing golf and I enjoy traveling to different golf courses throughout the world. I am also a big foodie and am Italian-American, so my favorite type of food is, of course, Italian cuisine!
